Current Events & Projects :

Our latest big project is the demolition of the Carriage Shed to make way for a new-and-improved storage & exhibit building!  The Carriage Shed had deteriorated past the point of repair and was structurally unsafe, so it had to go before someone got hurt.  The new building will feature some interactive displays for student groups as well as providing us with some much-needed storage space for equipment.

Improved accessiblity at the Museum and Art Center
We continue to work on improving our accessibility for challenged visitors.  We now have a “scrapbook tour” available for visitors who are unable to access the upstairs area of the Museum house—this booklet allows visitors to enjoy the upstairs exhibits from anywhere in the Museum.  We also have developed special tours for visitors that are visually, hearing, mobility, and/or developmentally challenged—these tours are available by special appointment OR for walk-ins (as staffing allows). We now have a video tour of the entire Museum house for our visitors that are unable to visit the house themselves to view in a fully-accessible area of the Art Annex.

Addresses needed
We are seeking current addresses and/or next-of-kin information on the following people that have old loans here at the Museum:  Beatrice Blocker (deceased), Esther (Mrs. George) Cook, Steven Martin, Dr. Sheldon & Katherine Price, Edna Lee (Mrs. John) Stewart (deceased).  Any help will be appreciated!
